A former Rutgers University student, Dharun Ravi used a
webcam to spy on a roommate who later committed suicide, has been sentenced to
30 days in jail. The judge gave 20-year-old Ravi a 30-day term with probation
on Monday. The judge also called Ravi’s actions “cold, calculated and
methodically conceived”. Ravi was convicted in March of “bias intimidation” for
using a webcam to stream a romantic encounter between his roommate. 18-year-old
Tyler Clementi and another man on the internet. Tyler Clementi took his life by
jumping from the George Washington Bridge in September 2010. Ravi hasn’t
attempted to apologize once and chose not to address the judge at all though his
sentencing hearing. Clementi’s father Joe, said that Ravi saw his son as not
deserving of basic human decency because her was gay. He also says that Ravi
has no remorse. On the other hand Ravi’s lawyer says that he has been “demonized
by the gay community” and the case is “being tried and is being treated as if
it’s a murder case”.

FACEBOOK is worth $100 billion! woe.
Facebook goes public this week. Facebook will
be valued at roughly $100 billion. Facebook will be the highest valuation ever
for initial public offering of a tech company. But come on…if Facebook really
worth this much money? Mark Zuckerberg turns 28 and becomes one of the richest
men in the world? The company is expected to start selling stock to the public
for the first time. The value of Facebook is over 100 billion making it worth
more than Disney, Ford and Kraft Foods. Once
Facebook begins selling stock, Zuckerberg will be expected to please a host of
new stakeholders, including Wall Street investment firms, hedge funds and
pension funds who will pressure him to keep the company growing. Young as he
may seem —especially in that hooded sweatshirt— Zuckerberg will be about the
same age as Michael Dell and older than Steve Jobs when those two took their
companies, Dell Inc. and Apple Inc., public.

Don't Get Out of Your Car on a Highway!
It’s called emergency lights
people, and don’t walk out on a highway; common sense. I guess this
Russian man didn’t have common sense. A man had to make an emergency stop and
failed to put him EMERGENCY lights on and was moving around beside his own
vehicle on a three-lane road when he was hit by an oncoming car. Besides his
car another car pulls up to help the first accident that he had to stop for and
other cars were not so patient. So they thought they would move around it and
hit a guy in the process. The car strikes the man and he is flipped. A smash is
heard and a woman’s voice can be heard on the video asking “What’s that? Oh my
god.” The man is then thrown by the can to his knees. He survived but only

something was wrong because when I woke up I couldn't feel any teeth and my jaw

Burger King is Thinking a Bit More Morally
! Burger King is getting a tad more humane! The World’s
second-biggest burger chain on Wednesday pledged that their eggs and pork will
come from cage-free chickens and pigs. Animal welfare activist were looking to
get livestock out of cages. Burger King is the first major US fast-food chain
to give all of its chickens and pigs some room to roam. Eggs and pork producers
have argued that easing confinement standers for animals raises production
coasts and makes those who adjust their practices less completive. Stupid meat producers.
"So many tens of thousands
of animals will now be in better living conditions," said Wayne Pacelle,
president of the Humane Society of the United States, which has been pushing Burger King and other companies to adopt similar policies.
"Numerically, this is significant because Burger King is such a big purchaser of these products."

Shouldn't Government Representatives be able to promote their beliefs and causes?
A cake was baked into the shape of a African woman on
Wednesday as Lena (minister) cut into it. Makode Linde is the artist who
designed the cake and is from African descent. This cake was aimed at making a
point and creating awareness about practice of female genital mutilation. The
artist was the “head” of the cake and screamed as it was being cut into. People
say that it was uncomfortable and wrong for a government rep. to be doing. The
artist says,” I didn't intend for anyone to feel singled out or
embarrassed," he said. "But we're talking about female genital
mutilation -- is there any comfortable or cozy way to talk about it?"
Lena has a meeting with the National Association for Afro-Swedes and the group
will be planning her step down and giving up her title. The minister says the
cake was designed as a statement against racism. Critics say otherwise.
“The Actual Inter of the piece- And MAkode Linde’s artistry- is to challenge the traditional image of racism, abuse, and oppression through provocation. It is perfectly obvious that my role as a minister differs from that of the artists. Provocation cannot and should not be an expression for those who have the trust and responsibility of Government representative.”

Ipad? How about sell one of your organs? A 17-year-old boy joined an online
chat room and sold his kidney. The buyer paid $3,500. The kidney was then used
in an illegal transplant. There is 6000 people every year the dye from lack of
kidney doctors. The teen is not suffering from renal deficiency ( inability of the kidney to excrete metabolites at
normal plasma levels under normal loading, or inability to retain electrolytes
when intake is normal; in the acute form, marked by uremia and usually by
oliguria, with hyperkalemia and pulmonary edema. AKA bad.) and
his health is declining at a rapid pace. But he has his Ipad.

The Hungry Games
Hunger Games cast finds irony in title while starving on
set. Investigators claim that the producers were afraid of the 10lb weight gain
the camera puts on. Jennifer while training was told to lose 40lb and make more
muscles. The producers and director also say they wanted a more realistic feel
of pain by having the actors starve and beg for food. The actors say they were
actually fighting for their lives and it helped them really dive into their
character. There were only 3 fatalities and a couple trips to the emergency
room. Investigators state that this was not a very moral way of making a movie
even though they really enjoyed watching it.

Hate Crime
Mississippi man was sentenced to life in prison for the 2011
murder of an African-American man. The judge called it an “inexcusable,
despicable crime”. Deryl Dedmon pleaded guilty to the murder and “hate crime
charge” before the judge in Jackson that was held on Wednesday. The
African-American man died (Anderson) died after Dedmon beat and ran over him
with his truck. Dedmon was a part of a group of seven while youths for a prominently
white community and after partying and drinking one night decided to find some
African-Americans and hurt them. Authorities say that Dedmon allegedly “boasted”
and laughed about the killing after. Anderson
was a line worker at a Nissan plant and sang in his church choir. "James
Anderson lost his life for no other reason than the color of his skin,"
said Morris Dees, chief trial counsel for the law center . "Those
responsible must be held accountable for their callous and deadly actions. We

The Cinnamon Challenge
The “cinnamon challenge” is where people try and swallow 1teaspoon of cinnamon. A Michigan student was hospitalized this week after taking part in the ‘cinnamon challenge’. A high school principal is warning students not to participate and mailing parents about its dangers. The cinnamon induces vomiting, choking, coughing and sometimes hypoxia. There is a Facebook page for this challenge and it says that participants will experience ‘dragon breath’ (exhaling a cloud of cinnamon). Cinnamon does not dissolve in liquid. On the Dr.Drew show they had the record holder, Mick, 24seconds. Dr. Drew said that kids do “stupid stuff, like planking and owling” but said that this was nothing to mess with. The cinnamon collapsed the students left lung and gave her an infection in her nose resulting in pneumonia. She spent 5 days of her winter break in the hospital.

Advanced Industrial Science and Technology, and Koji Tskada of Ochanomize have
created a “SpeechJammer” gun! It can silence people more then 30 meters away.
The device records its targets speech and fires their words back at them with a
0.2-second delay which affects the brains cognitive process and causes speakers
to stutter until they get silenced completely. They say “In general, human speech is jammed by
giving back to the speakers their own utterances at a delay of a few hundred
milliseconds. This effect can disturb people without any physical discomfort,
and disappears immediately by stopping speaking." They say it could be used to silence people in public
libraries that are being to loud.

High School Shooting
A 17-year-old suspect went on a deadly “shooting rampage” at Ohio High School. Lane (suspect) admitted to taking a 22-caliber pistol and knife to the 1,100-student school (Chardon High School) and firing ten shots at a group of students sitting at a cafeteria table Monday morning. Prosecutors say they will try Lana as an adult and will be possibly charged with three counts of aggravated murder. The school is offering grief counseling to students and staff. Authorities say that Demetrius Hewlin, 16, and Russell King Jr., 17, had died from their injuries. Daniel Parmertor, 16, died shortly after the shooting.

Super Hero Teen
A grandfather
form Michigan owes his life to his 15-year-old grandson. They were working on a
car together (1991 Buick) and it was propped up with the grandfather under it.
Austin (grandson) was inside the car pumping the breaks and it rocked and fell
slightly. After that the teen got out of the car and the car fell all the way
crushing his grandfather. Austin with adrenalin pumping lifted the 2000lb car
just enough for his 74-yearold grandfather to slither out. People always hear about super strength caused by an adrenalin rush and this just shows that it can happen. The grandfather
is left with bruising and facial scratches.
"Thank God he was here because if it was just me and his
grandmother it would have been over. That would have been it," Ernest
Monhollen tells WDIV.

Antigo Teachers Subsidized Income after Walkers Heath Care Cut-backs
(title is a joke haha get it...This has been going on sense even before Walker)Teachers and Principle of Antigo school smoke weed! The Antigo
principal is faced with a number of drug charges. John Lund was also a high school football
coach. Four other Antigo teachers have been connected to
the Lund case and are on paid leave but have not been charged yet. All four
teachers and the principal have admitted to investigators of some
sort of marijuana use. The principal and some of the teachers have also admitted to selling weed to locals also. The teachers consist of a Joe Adams, a special education teacher at Antigo High School;
Mark Incha, a learning disabilities teacher at the high school; Jeff Neufeld,
the director of the Clara R. McKenna Aquatic Center, the school district’s
pool; and Dan Witman, an elementary school gym teacher. I you ask me this is kinda weird.

California Mom Murders her Children
A California mom murdered her two children, their father, and
a cousin. In her apartment in Fresno, California is where some of the events leading
up to the horrific events were caught on tape by her IPad. She recorded herself
and boyfriend’s cousin smoking methamphetamines. The neighbors heard gun shots
and reported the frightening sounds. When the police got there the children’s
father was outside of the apartment with stab wounds and gunshot wounds. They
then heard the final shots. The mom had shot herself after shooting, cousin,
Paul Medina, and her two children (17-month-old Aliyah Echeverria and Isaiah
Echeverria, 3). They found the shooter in the bathroom with her two children in
the bath tub where they were each shot once. The boy died there and the little
girl died in the hospital. There was
also a 7-year-old girl in the apartment that escaped alive. Police found 10
grams of meth. They also discovered three firearms in the crime scene, two of
them were used. It’s hard to imagine a mother taking her children and killing
them but that is the power of drugs.
